Having already starred in two South movies, and participated in a popular reality show Splistvilla, Anshula Dhawan made her debut on television as a lead. Anshula, who was recently in the city and was last seen in the show Suhaagan, shared about her journey, choosing to start with a bold reality show like Splitsvilla in 2018 and how four years later she landed up to finally making her television debut. “Although I play a college student from Lucknow in my show, I have not yet filmed in the city. However, I am eager to discover the fictional character in Lucknow,” she said.
When asked about the experience on the reality show that influenced her to pursue a career in acting, she said, “I always wanted to be in this field. After Splitsvilla, I started getting calls for TV serials. For a while, I was hesitant, but then I thought since so many people are calling me for auditions, I must give acting a try, and here I am!”

‘I don’t think reality shows hamper your personality’
Ask her about her decision to enter in the industry through a bold show like Splitsvilla 11 and she said, “My family was never apprehensive about me doing Splitsvilla. I have been brought up by my mom, and she is a single parent. She has always been very supportive of all my decisions. There are no restrictions in terms of career. She only said if you will be able to handle it, and it’s your passion, do it. There are a lot of people who had to fight to come to shows like Splitsvilla. I didn’t have any concerns considering it was a reality show. Also, I don’t think reality shows hamper your personality as long as you are being there for yourself.”
I don’t have any inhibitions doing a bold scene on screen. Having said that, yes I do have my limitations, and I won’t go overboard with anything. But then yes if it makes sense according to the story then why not!
